Archaeology room
The "Archaeology Room", is a new space added this year to the path of the Museum. It documents in an exceptional way, the construction phases of the monument in the XIV e XV centuries.
Only discovered during the recovery and renovation works conducted at the end of the 1990s, the room represents the joining point between the pre-existing fortress and the Castle.
Even today, the level of the foundations is separate from the rest of the construction and surrounded by water. This room is the hinge between the two bodies of the building and the fresco on what was the west wall of the fortress is a rare reflection of the exterior decoration used on Ferrara’s buildings.
